Founder of La Luna Ensamble at SBW Berlin
At the beginning of June 2025, we were delighted to welcome Enrique Luna, founder of La Luna Ensamble and both SBW Berlin and UdK graduate (spring 2023), to our garden for coffee and cake – which was actually strawberry and rhubarb muffins. Enrique told us about his life in Mexico City. The house he moved into two months ago which he plans to turn into a meeting place for artists. This shall also become a place to hold workshops, lectures and film evenings. He also told us about his concerts and numerous music projects, which often combine music, dance and art. These projects also reflect his social commitment. For example, he has been teaching music three times a week for several months in a part of the city where many socially disadvantaged and needy people live. His youngest music student there is just 7 years old, while his oldest student in this group is 70 years old.
A tour with the choir of the National Autonomous University of Mexico
Unfortunately, Enrique’s visit to Berlin was very limited this time. The choir of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) had invited him on a two-week tour of Poland. So, Enrique accompanies the choir with his drums during the performances. His departure was therefore imminent.
Gifts from Mexico
But prior to that, Enrique surprised the SBW Berlin team with small gifts from Mexico: colorful key chains. These will of course be given a place of honor next to his digital album in tap-tape format. As we say thank you, we are very excited about his next projects.
